Terrell Jones shares with us how he got his start as an artist and how he made a name for himself in the NFT space. His works are digitally drawn, in a style he coined as "Pop-Precisionism". We were very excited to host his first solo exhibition and bring a large collection of his works to our gallery.
The show features a limited edition print, hand embellished prints on canvas, and 3 NFTs that are currently available for purchase.
The installation featured an airsoft shooting range that gave guests the chance to shoot at their custom Terrell Jones target prints.

AI KIMURA is a Japanese art project produced by Amazing Jiro and Margt (Arata Takabatake & Isamu Maeda). The project aims to pioneer the fusion of AI brains and human hand technology to question the boundaries and nature of creativity in art.
AI KIMURA seeks unique answers to the diversity and complexity facing contemporary society by combining organic and inorganic materials. Through the creation of new chimeras, its's work blurs the boundaries between life and non-life, and encourages the viewer to gain deeper insights.
In addition, it reflects a philosophy that dreams of a free world coexisting with AI, not only utilizing AI, but also reversing the traditional roles of humans and AI, adopting a paradigm in which humans respond to AI's creative ideas.
The interplay between AI and humans blurs the boundary between technology and nature, or between organic life and inorganic non-life, and realizes a bridge to a free world where they can coexist.
AI KIMURA's art goes beyond mere visual beauty to offer works that make us think deeply about the world we live in and its future.
By combining technological advances with the essence of nature, we will continue to challenge the possibilities to offer new answers to a society in need of diversity.

]]>Creepy Gals Land, a solo exhibition by Creepy Gals, took us into the artist's love-core universe.
The exhibition opened on February 11th and ran until March 3rd.
Opening night saw a massive crowd, following the artist's dress code of Red & Pink. Costumes, drag, and intricate outfits were shinning just as bright as the artwork. For us at Superchief Gallery LA, the guests and their enthusiasm for this exhibition was our proudest piece of the show.
Creepy Gals dressed our gallery walls in Neon Lights, Die cut acrylic paintings, sculptures, and murals. The center of the room featured a heart shaped bed which doubled as a stage for live performances throughout the night.
The exhibition was a perfect place for fans to satiate their need for merchandise and handmade creations by the one and only Creepy Gals.
We had the great opportunity to collaborate on this hoodie drop for the exhibition. We hand dyed these in house during our installation and we are super happy with the result. There is a limited quantity left available here.
The exhibition was a huge success during and after opening night, drawing large crowds during the weeks and weekends for our gallery hours.
Superchief Gallery has watched and supported the rise of the young and talented Creepy Gals for several years and is proud to have had the opportunity to help bring her universe to even greater heights.

Jones invites viewers to explore the many sides of the infamous Deville Crime Family through the vibrant world of Evil In Colour. The exhibition poses the question: Are the Devilles inherently evil, or has society’s condemnation shaped their devilish destiny? Through the lenses of Pop-Precisionism, the collection transforms each canvas into an arena where concepts of identity, morality, and fate fiercely interplay.
Jones will be taking over the entirety of the 9000 sqft Superchief LA Hybrid Gallery with physical paintings, immersive and interactive installation areas and of course, digital artwork and new NFTs.

Terrell Jones (b.1997) was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He began drawing around the age of four on the walls of his childhood home. Often being influenced by cartoons on television, manga books, and drawings his older brother would bring home. His illustrations are inspired by film, nostalgia, fashion, and introspection. In late 2022 he coined the style called “Pop-Precisionism”, which is a blend of the Pop Art, Precisionism, & Realism movements.
Opening March 16, the show, “PARIAHS,” features works that converge around a single theme and subject—the Deville Crime Family. These characters are fiends for the modern age, relaxing by the pool, dining out, and even hitting the poker table—depicted in Jones’ distinctive style, looking like they just stepped out of an Instagram feed with millions of followers.
Check out the full write up by NFTNOW as well as this full length interview by ZORA highlighting Terrell’s process & practices.
Jones uses a careful and methodical style in his digital art, with lots of layers on each piece to ensure he has total control over the outcome and can create a clean look. A solo exhibition at Superchief is a decisive vote of confidence in his creative output; the gallery, launched in 2021, has established itself as a powerful presence in the digital art space, having produced events alongside Christie’s, UNICEF, and the United Nations as well as at major NFT conferences.
Please enjoy some artwork by Terrell that will be available as both NFTs and Physical artworks for sale and on display at the exhibition.

Contagious Culture Volume 3 is a group photography exhibition focused on the evolving underground of our post pandemic world. Based entirely on submissions, the show spotlights the work of professionals and amateurs alike. The prevailing ethic behind the show is a rejection of the dopamine-driven feedback loops on social media and a celebration of photography for art's sake. Through curated selections of graffiti, skateboarding, music, street photography, urban exploring, and low riding, the exhibition creates a unique and collaborative presentation that acts like a yearbook of what's happening in a particular slice of culture today through the eyes of the photographers living it.
Gallery is open Tuesday - Sunday 12-7PM until July 9th.
Perfect Bound, UV Coated Cover; Full-Color; 200 pages

Debuting alongside our upcoming exhibition and originally called Fuck The Likes, Contagious Culture acts like a yearbook like chronicle of underground culture highlighting skating, low riding, and street life. Guests from around the country made the pilgrimage for the opening night. The exhibition is packed with paintings, sculptures, installations and more. The opening party teleported our guests to an alternate universe, only conceivable by the mind of BAER.
Like a technicolor Ralph Steadman, BAER's blacklight installation is the work of an artist taking us to the frenetic edge through psychedelic exploration and unique skill in documenting that unworldly experience. Much of BAER's inspiration is received through "downloads", experiences he's able to bring back with him from another realm under the influence of DMT.
See all available artwork on our site
As he tends to excel in all forms he takes on, BAER has presented an exhibition for the history books. It's up there with the great street-art-meets-gallery exhibitions of time from the likes of Barry McGee, David Choe and Neckface. The show runs through May 7th 2023 at Superchief Gallery LA, open every day except Monday.
Prints of this massive 12 foot painting "The Portal" are available on our site.
Bay Area Butcher T Shirts are also available on our site.

For nearly a decade, Superchief Gallery has been committed to supporting underground artists and elevating them to the global stage. Edward Zipco & Bill Dunleavy founded Superchief Gallery in 2012 with group art exhibitions in Brooklyn, NY and Sunday BBQs as a way for the community to gather and connect.
Over the past 10 years, Superchief has had nine different gallery spaces in New York, sometimes as many as three at a time. In 2016, Superchief opened their first digital art gallery in Soho, New York. This space focused entirely on digital-native artists as a way to establish digital artwork as a legitimate voice in the art scene & discourse.
In March 2021, Superchief Gallery NFT officially opened the world’s first physical IRL NFT gallery in New York. The inaugural collection Season 1 Starter Pack broke more than $1 million in sales in less than nine months. With this collection, Superchief introduced its past artists to the world of NFTs and brought new digital artists into the Superchief community.
With a warehouse twice the size as before, Superchief Gallery LA is adopting a cutting-edge hybrid model, showcasing both NFTs and traditional art. This new space aims to close the gap between the two worlds and establish a cultural meeting space for all parties, gathering for big moments as well as private events & IRL minting.
Superchief Gallery NFT has been committed to showcasing the possibilities of digital art in the physical world with display partners such as WHIM, Infinite Objects, and NeoShibuya TV. WHIM digital canvases allow Superchief Gallery NFT to show new NFT collectors what it feels like to actually live with digital work as the artist intended. Beyond Superchief’s NFT galleries in New York and Los Angeles, WHIM has created displays for CODE conference in LA, SCOPE Art Fair in Miami, and most recently, for the European Cultural Center’s Venice Biennale in Italy.
Thanks to a long-standing partnership with NeoShibuya TV, Superchief Gallery NFT has premiered the NFT artwork of 100+ artists on giant digital billboards across Shibuya, Tokyo. Curating these billboards has given Superchief artists the opportunity for their work to become public art in one of the world’s tech capitals.
Superchief Gallery NFT has hosted many iconic artists such as Swoon, Jake Fried, Martha Cooper, Driftershoots, Claire Silver, On The Roofs, Parker Day, Justin Aversano, Lucien Samaha, Ron English, and Mike IRAK. Superchief Gallery NFT is also very proud to have hosted and art directed the first physical events for many NFT industry giants such as OpenSea, Makersplace, Foundation, and Quantum. With a long and successful record behind them, Superchief Gallery NFT will continue to push the boundaries of art in the world of Web3.

Over the past two years, we have received support from the Queens Arts Council to turn our dream of painting the many steel gates that line our block into a reality.
This project has allowed us to paint a dozen or so roll-down gates with murals by LoLo YS, Hugo Gyrl, KASHINK, Sickid, Heesco, and more.
The murals vary greatly, but a prevalent theme for the block is “No Parking”, a message we try and fit in each mural.
Check out pics below, and if you are a Queens-based artist, we highly recommend checking out the Queens Arts Council - an organization that provides great guidance and also funding to local artists for their projects!

Superchief Gallery LA hosted a 3 person show with legendary underground cartoonists JJ Villard, Johnny Ryan, and Abraham Diaz, a rare meeting of minds!
JJ Villard is an Emmy-winning Cartoon Terrorist, perhaps best known for his hyper-violent cartoon, King Star King on Adult Swim. He has two more shows on the way, including Trap Universe which premiered this month. In addition to his rapidly escalating career in the animation industry, JJ maintains a maniacal sketchbook that is a mix of his day-to-day to-do lists and hilarious and fucked up illustrations. Villard stepped away from fine arts to focus on his animation career, and after being accepted in Cannes Film Festival in 2005, Dreamworks hired Villard to work on Shrek 3 & 4, plus many other Dreamworks animated movies. He's worked with Disney, Cartoon Network, Baker Skateboards, Stussy, and currently works at Adult Swim.
Johnny Ryan is an alt-comics creator with an absurdist and brutal style, aiming to make even the most easily offended people laugh. In the mid-90s, he was known for his self-published mini-comics series, Angry Youth Comix, eventually collected in two volumes by Fantagraphics in 2003 and 2005, who would also release his ultraviolent comic Prison Pit. Ryan has worked on Bagge's DC comic series Sweatshop, and with Dave Cooper on several comics for Nickelodeon Magazine since 2004. One of their stories served as inspiration for the Nickelodeon animation series Pig Goat Banana Cricket, for which Ryan and Cooper serve as executive producers. Johnny Ryan's work has appeared in nearly every issue of Nickelodeon Magazine, Vice for a solid 13 years, MAD magazine, LA Weekly, National Geographic Kids, Hustler Magazine and The Stranger.
Abraham Diaz is an illustrator based in Mexico City's underground punk scene, and also runs his own micro edition publishing house producing comics and outsider art under the name "Joc Doc." Abraham is known for his visceral and hard-edged illustrative interpretations of his home city. His work "Nausea" and "Suicida," dives into the chaotic and nihilistic depths of the underside of the underside of Mexico City, a place where "nonsense violence, corruption, misery and hopelessness" emanates in his eyes. His work has been shown in comic anthologies worldwide, in Kramers Ergot, Kovra, Kus! in Europe, and Spanish publishers Ediciones Valientes, and has done artwork for Pura Manía, Fracaso, Treatment, MøRbø, No Patience Records, and some flyers for Pizza Punks in California, Criaturas and Gas Rag gigs in Mexico City.

BODYSUITS by Sarah Sitkin’s was a solo exhibit at Superchief Gallery LA, which opened the month of March 2018. The show focused on human bodies turned into wearable garments. By directly molding actual people, Sitkin has preserved every minute detail to present hyper-realistic replicas of other people’s skin. Sitkin’s sculptural pieces are not horror or grotesque; they intentionally subvert boundaries and privacy in order to provoke recognition in the shared human experience. The wearer is invited to empathize, confront, and reevaluate the judgement we hold to the bodies of others as well as our own.
"The concept for this show was born when my grandmother asked me to make a mold of her toes. This led to a specific conversation about the physical attributes we personally remain insecure about. However, this quickly expanded beyond the personal, into the nature of the human condition as a meditation on the self. Our universal detachment with our bodies leads us through a lifetime of serious divides, between fantasy and reality for what our bodies should and could be. I do not believe the body defines who we are. It’s not really the essence of “us,” but functions more like a garment than a persona. The bodies in the show are direct molds from actual people. They have been recreated with extreme detail. Each suit carries it’s own weight, intended to communicate a burden or lack thereof for that particular body, such as the softness of youth, the stiffness of scar tissue, or the fragility of aging skin. I wanted “Bodysuits” to be an experience of the burden or pleasure of somebody’s physicality. The universal experience of insecurity is painful and often private, consolidated to a temporary solution and quick fix mentality that ignore the impending difficulties of age and breaking down. “Bodysuits” is a reminder of our impending mortality, allowing us to experience anothers being with curiosity and empathy, remembering our skins are not the self."

SPACE ANGELS opens Saturday November 4th, 2017
7:00-11:00 PM
Superchief Gallery LA
739 Kohler St
Los Angeles, CA 90021
Superchief Gallery LA is pleased to present the exhibition of Space Angels, a new body of work by Bunnie Reiss, known for her vibrant murals, featuring over two dozen new paintings, sculptural pieces, installations, quilts and more. This is her first solo exhibition in two years. The opening reception will be held on November 4 from 6pm - 11pm. Space Angels will be on view until December 2, 2017.
Space Angels, is Reiss’ exploration of a new fantastical universe that may be born from the conflicts that currently embroil the world, the paintings depicting its colorful inhabitants in her signature style of abstract, folk-art portraiture. She describes these figurative works as our “imaginal selves,” created as we retreat from the chaos so we can cocoon and dissolve our current circumstances, then come out completely new, all the way down to our gooey cellular form. “Our souls might just be saved and rise up from land to somewhere in the stars,” says Reiss in her artist statement. “We could go back to the basics of kindness, compassion, a deeper understanding of the human condition, and reread all the ancient books given to us by Mother Nature.”
About Bunnie Reiss:
Bunnie Reiss was born in Maryland, but raised mostly with the wide-blue sky’s of Colorado. Having come from a large Polish/Russian family, eating, loud talking and community shaped her life. She was a tiny rebel with a large imagination, knowing at a young age that she quite didn’t fit in and the world was a much bigger place than quiet suburban landscape that seemed to endlessly surround her.
She moved to rural Colorado, studied literature, and worked for NPR and other various publications, while quietly painting on the side. Magic, mysticism and the stars slowly crept into her conscious, and she began almost obsessively studying anything she could get her hands on. With her need to travel slowly pushing her all over the world, she eventually left Colorado and relocated to San Francisco, which at the time was a hub for creativity and guerrilla art. Her almost 15-year life their included an MFA from San Francisco Arts Institute and years of creative incubation in wild streets full of weird art and people painting everywhere. She
became herself here, found her community of artists that she would spend many years building, living and creating many things together.
After a small stint in France, and a few other areas around the US, Bunnie relocated to Los Angeles several years ago to pursue larger mural and installation based projects. Her work is heavily influenced by her Eastern European background, with its tradition of folk art, bright colors and community engagement. Her extensive travels have also added an extra layer of conversation, which make her creations unique. She has shown extensively in both the United States and around the world, in galleries, alternative spaces, bookstores, abandoned buildings, fields and forests, or any place that seems to need a little extra magic. Her brightly colored folk murals decorate many countries and can be found all over the world. Los Angeles, Mexico, Italy, Paris, India, Philippines, Detroit, Milwaukee, New York, San Francisco are just a few places you would likely stumble upon one.
