About the artist:

Ava Brock is a multi-disciplinary artist currently based in Los Angeles and raised in the Chicago suburbs. She recently graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. in Fine Arts and minor in African American Studies (2022). Brock’s work varies from painting, drawing, photo, video, and dance and explores the nuances of Otherness through imagined otherworldly beings and spaces. These colorful worlds and alien-like beings function as spiritual portals to the identities and transformative cycles of Blackness, queerness, and femininity.
