About the artist: 

Mia Scarpa (b. 1997) is a painter from Middleton, Massachusetts. Growing up, she also spent a majority of her time in Barnstead, New Hampshire. In 2020 she received a BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design. Mia is currently living and working in Los Angeles, California.

Mia presented her debut solo show “Masshole”, at Spy Projects in Los Angeles in April of 2022. She also made her curatorial debut with Mirror Show at Spy Projects in Los Angeles in January of 2023. Other select exhibitions in 2023 featuring Mia’s work include Black & Blue Fantasy, curated by Alfonso Golzalez Jr. at Dreamchild Gallery (Los Angeles CA), Próximo, curated by Ozzie Juarez at Franchise Gallery (Los Angeles CA), LAX / AMS, curated by Thinkspace Gallery at STRAAT Museum (Amsterdam Netherlands), Kayfabe, curated by BBQLA at Guerrero Gallery (Los Angeles CA), and Group Shoe 3, curated by Mario Ayala at House of Seiko (San Francisco CA).
